Rigby & Peller turnover up 8%

British lingerie brand Rigby & Peller saw profitability increase just under 1% this

year to €98.7 million.

The company's parent group, Van de Velde, a Belgium-based intimates conglomerate, reported a 3% drop in wholesale turnover across its portfolio brands which include PrimaDonna, Andres Sarda and Marie Jo. The company further saw its US Intimacy brand sales fall 10%.

Retail turnover at Rigby & Peller in the UK grew by over 8% as the brand opened new stores in Germany and Spain.

Van de Velde said it would give more detailed information on the outlook for the rest of 2012 in August.

Rigby & Peller were granted a Royal Warrant as Corsetiere to the Queen in 1960.
