Italian label Roberto Cavalli has appointed its first ever design director,

Yvan Mispelaere as it expands its design office.

Mispelaere, Diane von Furstenberg’s former creative director, will unveil his first collection for the fashion house in Autumn/Winter 2014, which will be showcased during Milan Fashion Week.

He served as DVF’s creative director for two-and-a-half years, before leaving the brand in September 2012 stating that he was "eager to take on my next challenge". Prior to his role there, he held design roles at Gucci, Chloé, Valentino, and Louis Féraud.
