Premium eyewear manufacturer and distributor Safilo has

named Henri Blomqvist to the newly established role of global commercial director, as the group looks to “refine” its sales strategy.

In his new role, Blomqvist will report to Luisa Delgado, CEO of Safilo Group, and oversee all commercial wholesale operations worldwide. Blomqvist joins from Procter & Gamble, where he has spent the last ten years in various sales and commercial management roles, most recently as international commercial leader of Braun.

"Henri brings strategic commercial leadership experience. He is thereby well positioned to strengthen Safilo's commercial capabilities, as we refine our stated sales strategy and in turn differentiate our manufacturing and logistics choices accordingly,” said Delgado. “This new global leadership role will be crucial in transforming Safilo into a global company that leverages worldwide synergies effectively, while preserving local entrepreneurship."

Safilo produces sunglasses, optical frames and sportswear eyewear and has an international presence through 30 owned subsidiaries in primary markets in America, Europe and Asia and exclusive distributors. The group produces and distributes house brands including Safilo, Carrera and Polaroid, as well as for licensed brands Alexander McQueen, Dior, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs, and Saint Laurent.
