Sainsbury’s hires Quantum to improve fashion inventory

Supermarket giant Sainsbury’s, which offers clothing at more than 400 of its stores

across the country, has hired inventory service provider Quantum Retail Technology to help optimise its fashion and general merchandise inventory through improved allocation and replenishment.

The supermarket chain has been developing its clothing business, earlier this month it promoted James Brown, former business unit director for clothing to director of non food trading as part of a wider shake-up of the supermarket’s management board.

It has also recently relaunched its Tu and by Sainsbury’s clothing brand as well as renew its collaboration with designer Gok Wan. Tu generated annual sales of approximately 750 million pounds in 2013.
