Hong Kong retailer Lane Crawford has lost its long-time fashion director, Sarah Rutson, as she looks to "pursue new personal
opportunities.”Rutson who has been with Asia’s most recognisable department store for the past 21 years, has been responsible for a number of initiatives during her two decades with the company, including the creation of the woman’s contemporary department and assisting in the stores expansion beyond Hong Kong to Shanghai and Chengdu.
News of her departure broke due to her absence from New York Fashion Week where she has become a favourite of the street-style photographers.
Rutson only officially departed as fashion director of Lane Crawford on September 5, but already rumours are circulating as to wear she will appear next, with WWD reporting that she is planning to take up a role at Net-a-Porter in January. The trade magazine didn’t reveal any further details of the role, just that an official announcement would be made by the online retailer in October.
