Finnish designer, Satu Maaranen, who won the Première Vision Grand Prize

at the last edition of the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography, is teaming up with French fashion brand Petit Bateau on a capsule collection.

Maaranen has designed a capsule line that reinterprets the label’s signature nautical stripes into nine pieces for children and women, such as T-shirts, dresses and knitwear. The collection is set to be unveiled at the forthcoming French festival and will feature hand-painted stripe patterns.

The range will be available for sale in around 280 Petit Bateau stores and some specialty retailers worldwide from April 29, according to WWD. Prices for the collection range from 25 euros for a children’s T-shirt to 125 euros for a women’s dress.

“I wanted to take that iconic Petit Bateau marine stripe, which is a very small, tiny stripe, and then to do a new version of that, painting the stripes in a wavy feeling like I did in my previous own collection,” Maaranen told WWD.

The upcoming edition of Hyères International festival of fashion and photography will take place from April 25 to 28 in southern France.
