Chinese consumers are buying more traditional Scottish clothing than ever before, with the sale of Scottish fabrics to China
expected to reach a record high.Scotland now sells more than two and half times more fabric to China than it did a decade ago, according to the FT, with exports totalling 9.7 million pounds in the first nine months in 2013, beating the total amount exported to China in 2012.
Scottish manufacturers including Johnstons of Elgin, Harris Tweed Hebrides, and Isle of Harris have all seen increased exports to China, as fashion-conscious Chinese shoppers buy everything from tweed suits to tartan shirts and even golfing attire.
