To celebrate the start of a new year, department store group

Selfridges has launched a new initiative for its customers, known as 'The festival of Imagination'.

The campaign aims to promotion the power of imagination and innovation among Selfridges customers. The department store group will hold over 100 talks concerning the importance of imagination and creativity over the next few weeks, in its Birmingham, London and Manchester stores. Internationally renowned poets, artists and designers will host lectures, debates and workshops in Selfridges, which are all open to the public.

In Selfridges London flagship store, the concept store on the ground floor was transformed into The Imagine shop, which features an array of new pioneering products, such 3D printers, impossible cameras as well as the most expensive item to ever go on sale in a Selfridges store, a yacht, which can be purchased via augmented reality.

“Imagination is the mother of originality, we encourage imagination in every way possible,” said the department store group's founder, Harry Gordon Selfridge. The new initiative follows Selfridges 'No Noise' campaign launched last year and is set to run until February 22.
