Paint giant Dulux has announced the shortlisted nominees

for its second Let’s Colour Awards, which celebrates innovative uses of colour across Britain's creative industries and events across seven categories including fashion.

London Fashion Week footwear designer Sophia Webster is among the nominees for 'Best Use of Colour in Fashion and Beauty' for her ‘bold and brave’ Autumn/Winter 2013 collection, as well as for the prestigious ‘Colour Ambassador’ award.

Webster is up against designer Roksanda Ilincic, who has been nominated for her Spring/Summer 2014 collection, and Hong Kong-born designer Ryan Lo for the best use of colour in fashion. In addition, online retailer Asos has been shortlisted for its Molly Goddard capsule collection, as has nail boutique Wah Nails and make-up artist Alex Box.

Speaking of the awards, Dulux creative director and head judge, Marianne Shillingford, said: “Colour has the unique ability to transform, uplift and inspire us all, but it is often overlooked and taken for granted.

“So in a year that’s really pushed the boundaries of how we see and engage with colour, we’re excited to be back once again rewarding the people and brands who use this powerful tool at its very best.”

The other categories include technology and design, the arts, home and interiors, as well as the wider cultural scene. All nominees were chosen by a panel of judges including Jo Elvin, editor of Glamour, Sandie Daw MBE, CEO of VisitBritain, and Chloe Macintosh, creative director of Made.com.

The winners will be announced in March 2014 at an award ceremony.
