Star Fashion Co, a leading maker and distributor of apparel,

shoes and accessories in the Asia-Pacific region, is planning to approach international shoe brands about being the exclusive maker of their products in Thailand.

According to the ‘Bangkok Post’, managing director Vipop Tatiyamaneekul is aimed to capitalise the Asian market growth by approaching those fashion brands keen to enter the region.

In this breath, Vipop said the company is in talks with three or four global shoe companies about producing special collections for the Thai market. "We were very successful in launching the exclusive FitFlop and Sanuk shoe collections made for Thai customers," he reminded, adding that "We'll apply this strategy to other shoe brands, help with distribution and launch greater collections to speed sales."

Thailand and the Philippines are the two biggest markets for FitFlop in Southeast Asia, said Vipop. Because of its strong performance, Thailand is the first country allowed by the parent firm of FitFlop to create an exclusive collection for local customers.

The company also revealed that will be spending 220 million baht to expand this year, of which 100 million will go to introducing new brands to the market and opening new shops in Chiang Mai, Hat Yai and Ubon Ratchathani.
