Sun Capital, the private equity firm behind Jacques Vert, is

said to axe various of its brands in 2013, aimed to “rationalize” its portfolio.

‘This is Money’ advanced on Monday that Jacques Vert – Britain’s biggest department store concession group with 11 labels including Windsmoor, Precis and Planet – will axe several brands in 2013.

A source quoted by the London diary said that “parent group Sun Capital wants to rationalize its portfolio and reduce the number of brands where it feels there is crossover or where brands are not performing.”

The Jacques Vert Group was formed when private equity group Sun Capital merged Jacques Vert and the Irisa Group, formerly known as Alexon, earlier this year. It bought Alexon out of administration last September and acquired Jacques Vert in December, reminds ‘Retail Week’. The combined business includes womenswear brands Alexon, Jacques Vert, Kaliko and Ann Harvey

At present time, Sun is thought to have Jacques Vert under business review, aimed to discern which brands will eventually go ahead and which ones would face tougher options. The business review is expected to be completed by March, advanced ‘The Mail’.
