The annual Sunday Times Rich List is out and once again

Arcadia’s Sir Philip Green and the Weston family, who own Selfridges, have been named fashion’s wealthiest.

Galen and George Weston and their families, who not only own luxury department store Selfridges, but also have stakes in Primark and Fortnum & Mason, were ranked 11th in the overall list, with a combined fortune of 6.65 billion pounds, making them the highest fashion name in the list.

The annual list, which compiles the wealthiest people in Britain and Ireland, listed Green and his wife at number 16, with a net worth of 3.88 billion pounds up 580 million pounds from 2012. His good year was helped by the expansion of his fashion brands into foreign markets as well as selling a 25 percent stake in the Topshop and Topman brands to an American private equity company.

Other notable names to make the 25th anniversary list include: Sir Paul Smith who is worth 250 million pounds; David and Victoria Beckham with 200 million pounds; and Ted Baker’s chief executive Ray Kelvin was the highest climbing fashion name as his wealth rose 135 million pounds to 231 million pounds.
