Swiss brand Hanro to open first UK store

Swiss luxury lingerie brand Hanro will open its first

standalone UK store on South Molton Street in the West End of London next month.

Hanro, which is currently sold in 120 UK outlets including department stores Selfridges, John Lewis and Harrods, has signed a ten-year lease for 6 South Molton Street.

The 928 square foot store, will open in mid-September, ahead of its official launch in October. The store will house the brand's full collection of women’s and men’s basic and ‘trend’ styles in lingerie, nightwear and lounge wear.

Commenting on the new store, Hanro’s managing director, Stephan Hohmann, said: “The UK has experienced significant growth for us in the last 5 years. Our UK distributors Intimates are launching the store for us and we have high expectations for the first quarter as we approach London’s high footfall around Christmas shopping.”

The retailer will sit alongside other new retailers to the area, such as Bimba & Lola, Frey Wille and Claude Pierlot.

Hanro, which will be celebrating its 130 year anniversary in 2014, currently has five monobrand stores worldwide, three of which are in Europe. The biggest performing markets for the lingerie brand along with the UK is the US, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Benelux and Japan.
