Tabernacle Twins: promising, new talent in the Scandinavian

fashion scene. The brand was started at the end of 2009 and– partly due to its participation in Gallery – had a successful launch. This season we see the return of the TABERNACLE TWINS at the fair so we spoke with Vibe Lundemark – founder and designer of the brand – about his designs and his experience at Gallery.

Who are you and why did you decide to start your own brand?
"My name is Vibe Lundemark and after graduating from the RCA in London I established the TABERNACLE TWINS. It’s always been a big dream of mine to have my own label so after successfully completing my degree it wasn’t a difficult choice to make."

Tell us something about the brand?
"The collection is based on a fictive set of twins called THE TABERNACLE TWINS. The brand follows the twins during their adventurous journeys and every collection is based on a chapter of their story. The designs are inspired by an imaginary, panoramic setting within which we seek the perfect balance between fashion, textile and illustrations for each season. The setting is translated into a colourful women’s collection focused on prints, the fit and knit wear."

How long have you been taking part in Gallery?
"I exhibited for the first time at the fair in 2010. Gallery is a perfect way to introduce a new label. It bought us lots of new customers and we have been able to extensively expand the TABERNACLE TWINS international network."

What is the general atmosphere like at the fair?
"It is above all convivial. Your collection is viewed by many new people but even existing customers come along to say hello."

What makes Galley a good international fair to visit in particular?
"It is the chance for retailers to discover Scandinavian design. The renowned brands take part but also young and up-coming designers get the chance to highlight their collections. So a unique mix!”

Why should visitors not just walk straight passed your stand?
"Because the TABERNACLE TWINS have a story to tell."

What are your expectations of the coming edition?
"I am looking forward to meeting new and existing customers and hope of course that the collection is well received.”

Finally, what is a definite must-do in Copenhagen during the CFW?
"Come and see our collection of course ;-). But if you have any time left in between the fashion madness it is certainly worthwhile just taking a stroll around the city."
