British fashion retailer Ted Baker has appointed former Karstadt chief executive Andrew Jennings as a non-executive

director.

Prior to working at Karstadt Group, where he left at the end of last year, he held a number of senior executive positions at leading UK and international retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue in the USA, Holt Renfrew in Canada, Harrods and House of Fraser in the UK, and Brown Thomas in Ireland.

He has also recently been appointed as the senior retail adviser to the Myers department store group in Australia.

Jennings joins the Ted Baker board on February 1, and will be appointed to the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees after a period of induction with the company.

Ted Baker chairman David Bernstein said: "We are delighted that Andrew Jennings is joining the Ted Baker Board. He brings a wealth of international retail experience gained over 40 years at some of the world's most respected high-end speciality stores. His experience will be invaluable as we continue to develop the brand in the UK and internationally and we look forward to his contribution going forward."
