The Textile Forum, London’s fashion fabric event,
is to host 40 percent more exhibitors on its spring 14 edition for its autumn show taking place this week.Running from October 16 to 17, the autumn issue will take place in a larger venue, One Marylebone, to accommodate the additional exhibitors, who will present around 45 different collections, according to co-founder and organiser Linda Laderman.
While most of the exhibitors are from the UK, the sourcing event has attracted new exhibitors from Italy and Japan including Italian firms Galeotti Piume and Ruffo Coli Tessuti, as well as Japanese cottons and linens specialist Yuwa Shoten. There will also be representatives from France, Spain and Belgium.
The show, which has been running since 2002, offers fabrics from silks, wools and cottons to leathers and linen, plus accessories, linings, labels and print specialists for designers of womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, lingerie, eveningwear and bridalwear.
“Innovation is key to tempting buyers to source fabrics and there will be no shortage of new ideas at this autumn’s show which is certainly resonating with buyers as pre-registrations are already ahead of our spring event which is very encouraging,” explains Laderman.
Previously held at The Music Room on South Molton Street, One Marylebone offers two floors, which will allow for further expansion. For the autumn edition, Laderman has said that the exhibition has filled the first floor and hopes to “fill the other one” by October 2014.
