The Art of Elysium has created a special award in honor of designer

L'Wren Scott, who passed away earlier this month and has named the award after the belated designer and one of the first children to participate in its fashion workshop, Amber.

The Los-Angeles based non-profit organization uses creative outlets such as art, fashion design and music to help children with terminal or serious medical conditions. The L'Wren Scott Amber award is part of the Elysium Collections fashion program and will be presented to emerging fashion designers who spent time with the children attending the program.

Winners of the award will be asked to develop a capsule collection of clothing, which will be sold via the Art of Elysium website and all proceeds will benefit the Elysium Collections.

The Art of Elysium was founded by Jennifer Howell in 1997 and currently offers four separate programmes.
