Peter Pilotto has been named the winner of this year's BFC/Vogue Designer Fund during
a presentation at the Grill Room in the Café Royal Hotel in London Tuesday night. The design duo behind the fashion label, Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos previously met while studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 2000 and together set up the label."Christopher and Peter are deserved winners of this year's Fund award," commented Alexandra Shulman, chair of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund and editor of British Vogue. "They have remained true to their vision of a print and colour-focused brand, but have managed to expand and grow the business to a level where they can now compete on an international stage. It's a pleasure to be able to support them."
The Fund was established in 2008 and bestows one designer with 200,000 pounds grant as well as personal mentoring support programme over a twelve month period to help the designer move their business to the next level.
House of Holland, Mary Katrantzou, Osman, Zoe Jordan and Peter Pilotto were previously shortlisted for the 2014 award and invited to present their collections alongside with a five year business plan to the Funds panel of judges, which consists of industry experts and fashion companies.
Since the Fund's beginning, the award has supported young British designers take the next step in their career and past winners include Nicholas Kirkwood, Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane and Erdem.
