Fashion designer Thierry Mugler has been

confirmed as the new creative advisor to Thierry Mugler SAS director general and Clarins Fragrance Group president Joël Palix.

The designer, who founded the brand, has served as Thierry Mugler Parfum’s artistic director since 1992, and will now be offering advice to the French businessman on various aspects of the business, as the fashion house looks to move both the ready-to-wear and fragrance categories under one creative management team.

The move follows the departure of Nicola Formichetti, who left his position as creative director earlier this month, as well as both Thierry Mugler head designers for women’s and men’s wear Sébastien Peigné and Romain Kremer, who have both resigned. The fashion house is now looking to recruit a single, full-time creative director to oversee both its fragrance and fashion division.

Commenting on the announcement, Palix said in a statement: “Over the last three years, Mugler Fashion has made a visible and successful comeback, while Mugler fragrances have enjoyed a 50 percent growth in sales with both Angel and Alien now amongst the top feminine fragrances worldwide.

“It is time to unite both activities under one single creative management and turn Mugler into a global and fully integrated luxury brand with a synergetic approach across fashion, accessories and fragrances.”
