Dutch footwear brand United Nude is expanding its presence in London with two new
stores. Following the success of the flagship store in Covent Garden, which opened in summer 2011, the shoe brand opened a pop-up store last month on Neal Street and is set to open a concept store on Regent Street later this month.Commenting on the expansion and the use of pop-up stores, United Nude’s creative director and founder Rem D Koolhaas said: “I’m delighted about the fact that we are opening new stores around the world in today’s turbulent environment. The pop-up shops are great for us: the process for opening them is a lot faster and more energetic than for traditional shops, which suits our style.
“It allows us to test new locations and sometimes a pop-up turns into a more permanent store due to its success. I also think that pop-ups are becoming more and more common and there will be more companies that will open them as we do.”
Founded in 2003, United Nude has become renowned for its architectural shoe designs, and is currently available in over fifty countries and has seven flagship stores in Amsterdam, New York, Vienna, Tel Aviv, Seoul, Tokyo and London.
