The Victoria and Albert Museum in London is set to celebrate the 25th anniversary

of British fashion designer Jenny Packham this summer as part of its Fashion in Motion series.

Following in the footsteps of Giles Deacon, Erdem, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood, Packham will showcase highlights from her collections to date in a series of four free catwalk shows, in the V&A’s Raphael Gallery.

Taking place on July 19, the Fashion in Motion catwalk shows will feature a selection of the designer’s favourite dresses, including a shocking pink silk chiffon embellished dress from her Spring/Summer 2009 collection and a full-length tulle dress with cutaway black lace from the Autumn/Winter 2005 collection.

"We are delighted to be showing the work of Jenny Packham at the V&A, to reach 25 years is a real achievement and a great success story for British Fashion," said Oriole Cullen, V&A Fashion in Motion curator. "Following the recent success of our Ballgowns exhibition, we know that our audiences will really enjoy seeing Jenny's elegant dresses and appreciate the change to have an up-close view of the cut, drape and intricate embellishments of her work."

The concept of the V&A’s Fashion in Motion series is to bring catwalk shows by leading international designers to the UK, with the aim of showcasing fashion as its is meant to be seen – in movement. Other designers who have previously taken part include Jean Paul Gaultier, Gareth Pugh, Missoni, Roksanda Ilincic, Christian Lacroix, and Yoji Yamamoto.
