Italian luxury goods company Valextra has names Alessandra Bettari as its new CEO, following the departure of its former CEO,

Marco Franchini this May.

As Valextra new CEO, Bettari will oversee the luxury goods firm international expansion scheme, whilst ensuring the label's preminium status remains the same.

One of the first moves in Valextra global growth plan is the opening of its 1,620 square flagship store in Madison Avenue, New York this November, reported WWD. “After Milan’s Via Manzoni flagship, this unit has an enormous strategic importance,” said Bettari in an interview at the brands head office.

The executive will also supported the growth of the label's online business and bespoke collection. Valextra is set to open its online store in Europe and the US next month, and expand its e-commerce to Japan and the rest of the world by the end of this year.

“We want to strengthen our bespoke offer and will have a dedicated area on the second floor in our New York flagship,” added Bettari.

Bettari brings with her years of experience to her new role to help expand Valextra presence in the luxury industry. Before taking on her executive role at the Italian luxury firm, she was global commercial director at Joseph.

Prior to that she was CEO and president of Fendi Japan, where she has been credited with repositioning the labels's positioning in the market. She also was president for Furla Japan and spearheaded the brand's retail network in the country.
