There is a huge new trend taking over our TV's and magazines in the UK, it is one of those cool trends

that has risen from the streets and become mainstream, which makes it refreshingly cool as it was something that wasn't predicted and pushed by the usual routes.

It has however, been a staple part of the young Americans wardrobe for many decades and we can remember seeing it in films with Macaulay Calkin, or as a regular feature on Saved by the Bell, and even that kid from Back to the Future had one.

I am not talking about the unforgettable  pump action trainers, but more the cool Varsity Jacket, which is fast becoming a new trend and a must have for any respectable teenager or young twenty something with street credibility to maintain.

People in the music industry like Jay-z, Pharrel Williams and Kanye West have always been stepping out in this look, but now in the UK we have our own version of this easy casual and fresh looking jacket.

In the UK trend has become so popular that the cool kidz are using it to make a statement supporting their favourite brand, Criminal Damage, who have seen an incredible demand for this particular product. Along with their vast array of shirts and chinos which completes the look, but the pants have to be a drop crotch version of the chino without a cuff.

Criminal Damage has been producing their own interesting and unique versions of the using the CD logo to create a buzz about the brand, and now with so many celeb followers, the Varsity Jacket is even popping up on shows like the X Factor, its really amazing to see how a fashion pushed from the streets has really taken a grip nationwide.

Most people are embracing the look as the replacement for the darker era of street wear, the hoody, which has created so much controversy in the UK, most people wont even wear their hoods when its actually raining anymore for fear of being misjudged. But this refreshing and easy to make a statement jacket has really taken the nation by storm. For more information check out www.criminaldamage.co.uk/
