Victoria Beckham has confirmed she will open her first standalone store on London’s Dover Street this

autumn.

The designer has hired architect Farshid Moussavi, whose previous projects include the Olympic Park, to refurbish the 7,000 square foot, three-floor space, at number 36, which is currently occupied by sporting sport Orvis, opposite conceptual fashion store Dover Street Market.

Plans for the design of the store include “drilling a massive hole through the middle” of the store, Beckham told WWD.

The designer also added: "I think the time is now because I know my customer. It will be the first time that the people will really be able to see the brand through my eyes."

The debut store will house all the collections that fall under the Victoria Beckham brand, including Victoria Beckham, Victoria Victoria Beckham, denim, optical and accessories.

In the interview with WWD, Beckham also revealed that after Britain her strongest market is America, which is why she is opening an office in New York’s Chelsea district next month.
