Luxury vintage e-tailer Atelier-Mayer.com has closed its online doors.

Founder Carmen Haid first launch the site five years ago, selling vintage clothing and accessories that dated back to the early 1920s.

Earlier this year news broke that Haid was reviewing future possibilities for the online platform, which included selling the website to a new owner. This morning she told Vogue: “Although the adventure has been truly wonderful, an opportunity has arisen to sell the business and move on to the next chapter. All of our wonderful vintage pieces are going to a very good home.”

Atelier-Mayer.com has already been taken offline and features black home screen reading 'Will be back soon'. Haid declined to reveal what her next move would be, or who has acquired the online store. “"It is very sad to part with Atelier-Mayer.com, however, Madame Mayer is like a cat with nine lives, so watch this space - she will be back soon!"
