Walpole, the not-for-profit trade body that represents more than 160 British luxury brands, has named Michelle Emmerson as
its new Chief Executive Officer, with immediate effect.Emmerson, Walpole’s former managing director, joined the organisation in 2013 from her role as group services and people director at Asos. Her promotion to CEO is part of the groups “next step” in growing the organisation’s global presence, which began with the highly successful Great Festival of Creativity in Istanbul which Walpole was a key partner in.
Since joining Walpole, Emmerson has been conducting an extensive review of the organisation to ensure that it speaks with a collective voice to bring future change at industry and government levels both in the UK and international to develop, promote and protect the luxury sector. It is this “incredible work” stated the organisation that has led to her promotion to CEO.
Walpole British Luxury is an industry organisation that represents British luxury brands such as Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Selfridges, Harrods and Jimmy Choo.
