Walpole, the organisation that represents and promotes the British luxury industry,

has unveiled its 2012 British ‘Brands of Tomorrow’, which in previous years has included online jewellery company Astley Clarke and British watch brand Bremont.

For the sixth year running Walpole, whose members include Burberry, Fortnum & Mason, Harrods and Jimmy Choo, has selected eight labels in their annual ‘Brands of Tomorrow’ list, and this year’s selection is varied including a kidswear label, a scarf brand, a millinery company, an accessories label, a sportswear brand, as well as a chocolatier, a designer tent maker and a yacht-builder.

The fashion brand’s being touted as ‘Brands of Tomorrow’ are: award-winning designer kidswear label Aravore that has developed a loyal following inside and outside the UK; luxury British scarf brand Lily and Lionel that specialises in iconic printed scarves; Elvis & Kresse, a life-style accessories brand that re-engineers seemingly useless wastes to create stunning pieces; luxe sportswear label Lucas Hugh; and Vivien Sheriff, a multi-award winning, luxury headwear brand at the forefront of British headwear design.

Julia Carrick, CEO of Walpole, said: “The Walpole Brands of Tomorrow programme continues to nurture and support small upcoming British brands, providing them with valuable guidance from industry experts and helping them to become leaders in their field in years to come.

“This year’s brands encompass a broad section of the luxury industry combining cutting edge design with quality and originality. We very much look forward to working closely with them over the coming year.”
