Westfield Centres boxing day peak

Westfield shopping Centres have reported boxing day boom as both their Stratford and

central London locations have reported “exceptionally busy” periods.

With 340,000 shoppers visiting the two shopping emporiums throughout the day, the centre saw the greatest footfall since its opening.

Myf Ryan, general manager marketing, Westfield UK, said: "Westfield has experienced a busy Christmas with many of our retailers reporting strong sales. Boxing Day shaped up to be another successful day with significant queues outside Zara, Topshop/Topman, Hollister, River Island and Gilly Hicks before the centres opened.

"Retailers have heralded the most popular sales items to be footwear, women's accessories, sweatshirts and fragrances. We have extended our shopping hours to encourage shoppers to make the most of the sales."
