Westwood recognised at Harper’s Bazaar awards

British fashion icon Dame Vivienne Westwood was last

night crowned ‘Inspiration of the Year’ at Harper’s Bazaar’s annual Women of the Year Awards, which honours the achievements of the women who have “inspired and influenced”.

Introduced as “a true living legend” by host David Walliams, Westwood was honoured for her work campaigning for the conservation of the rainforests as well as her successful fashion empire.

The awards held at London’s Claridge’s Hotel also honoured other fashion names including Stella McCartney who won ‘British Designer of the Year’, Anya Hindmarch scooped ‘Businesswoman of the Year’, and Dior’s creative director took home the ‘Man in a Woman’s World’ award.
