Fashion and football have gone hand in hand once again, with the new collaboration between Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas

for Real Madrid.

In collaboration with the German athletic sportswear giant, Yamamoto created three football jersey designs for the Spanish team. It features an original canvas painting depicting a fabled creature that is both dragon and bird to symbolise the “dragon’s strength, determination, and power and the bird’s speed, agility, and cunning – all qualities demonstrated by Real Madrid’s star players”, according to the press release.

The artwork appears on jerseys that have been redesigned with a Henley-style collar construction And adidas’ three stripes and Performance logo.

Produced solely in black, Yamamoto’s favourite colour, they will also be available for purchase in limited, numbered quantities. Packed in a handmade commemorative box and with only 1,400 available worldwide, they bear Yamamoto’s personal signature and the number 3 representing Adidas’ three stripes.

The jerseys are priced at 250 euros and are available from selected Adidas retailers.
