From September 2014, Yoox.com will make its debut into the sportswear arena with a brand new section featuring“fashion-forward activewear” for women, men and children.
According to the Italian e-tailer, the new dedicated sportswear section will showcase a “rich selection” from some of the best-known international sportswear brands to niche performance-wear labels, which have all been selected for their “winning style and their high quality performance”.
The names of the brands that will be part of the section will be revealed in September.
Sportswear will be the latest addition to Yoox, currently the e-commerce platform showcases ready-to-wear and accessories for women, men and children, as well as interiors, books and gifts in its design category and sells prints, photography and artist-designed products in its art section.
The sportswear marketplace seems to be in demand, Yoox’s announcement follows Net-a-Porter’s launch last week of its new shopping category, Net-a-Sporter dedicated to sports clothes and accessories.
