British womenswear label Amanda Wakeley is to launch a flagship store in London’s Mayfair this autumn, as part of the brand’s global expansion plans. The 3,000 square foot store, which will be located at 18 Albemarle Street, will showcase the

designer label’s ready-to-wear, cashmere, beach and accessories lines, as well as house the brand’s bespoke and demi-couture Atelier collections.

Commenting
on the store opening, Wakeley said: “I am so excited to be opening a flagship store in the heart of London’s Mayfair. It has always been a dream of mine to showcase my lifestyle range in the setting of a Mayfair townhouse where the product sits in a warm, inviting yet glamorous environment.

“I want the customer to feel completely “at home” the minute they walk through the door. I am hugely enjoying the process of creating the interiors to reflect this with our clean glam, London cosmopolitan aesthetic.”

The three storey flagship is the latest in a series of developments for Amanda Wakeley, which recently appointed a new CEO, Sagra Maceira de Rosen, and last year secured “significant” investment to develop the business.

The new investment came from private equity firm AGC Equity Partners to broaden the label’s ready-to-wear line collection, as well as develop the label into a “luxurious lifestyle brand” by creating new products and expanding the company’s retail partnerships.

British designer Amanda Wakeley launched her signature label in 1990 and since then the label has developed an international reputation for designing sexy-yet-timeless pieces, which have been favoured by the likes of the Duchess of Cambridge, and actresses Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren.

Currently the brand has one other store in London on Fulham Road, which will remain open, as well as concessions within Harvey Nichols and Harrods. The brand is also represented throughout the Europe, America and the Middle East.

Mayfair is attracting a lot of attention from designers at the moment, earlier this month it was reported that Victoria Beckham is considering opening her debut store on Dover Street, while London Fashion Week designer Roksanda Ilincic is said to have chosen to open her store on Mount Street to sit alongside Marc Jacobs and Lanvin.
