BFC teams up with Stylebop.com

The British Fashion Council is partnering with luxury fashion e-tailer, Stylebop.com, to launch a new initiative to promote British red carpet designers with the London Style Suites in Los Angeles. The event, which takes place from November 7-8,

will showcase red carpet designs from designers David Koma, Emilia Wickstead, Mary Katrantzou, Matthew Williamson, Osman and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi.

The London Style Suites aims to highlight the British designers ahead of the 2013/4 award season and to help the labels gain important red carpet exposure by introducing the brands to West Coast stylists, press and VIPs, as well as see each designer partnering with Stylebop.com on a capsule collection.

Each designer will take over a private cottage at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Hollywood to showcase their Spring/Summer 2014 red carpet pieces, while StyleBop.com will take over a bungalow showcasing current season red carpet designers for VIPs to wear at the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards that takes place on November 9.

Additionally, each designer, as well as Roksanda Ilincic, Marios Schwab, Nicholas Kirkwood and Sophia Webster, will create a custom designed piece to be sold as a capsule collection exclusive to Stylebop.com.

BFC takes British designers to Hollywood

Caroline Rush, CEO British Fashion Council said: “London Style Suites in LA will allow key players from the film and music industries including stylists, stars of the red carpet and press to initiate conversations with some of London’s brightest design talents and increase red carpet moments across the globe.

London Style Suits will celebrate its launch on November 8 with a cocktail reception hosted by Poppy Delevingne at the Chateau Marmont that will showcase off the designers taking part.
