Disneyland Paris to hold fashion show

Disneyland Paris is to celebrate its extended 20th anniversary by hosting a fashion show inspired by the park’s Disney Dreams show on March 23. The Paris resort has commissioned nine designers from nine different European countries to present bespoke

Disney-inspired creation for its ‘Designers of Dreams’ fashion parade. The designers taking part include British label Sister by Sibling, designed by Sid Bryan, Joe Bates and Cozette McCreery, Philip Treacy representing Ireland, Custo Barcelona for Spain, and Alber Elbaz for Lanvin is the French representative.

London Fashion Week’s design trio, Sister by Sibling, who specialise in couture knitwear will present an outfit inspired by Cinderalla’s three mice friends Jack, Gus and Mary, who represent the three designers in a final creation featuring a knitted mini, hand-embroidery by Laura Lees and customised sparkly hi-tops by Katie Grand Loves Hogan.

"Revisiting Disney's Cinderella as an adult has been an amazing experience and to be asked to design for Disneyland Paris from this starting point was a joy," the label said. "Sister by Sibling immediately felt an affinity with the three mice within the story: friendly, helpful with an inner strength and a familiar easy-going humour. And so, with the help of Jack (Sid), Gus (Joe), and Mary (Cozette), Cinderella will go to the ball and this ball will be rockin'!"

Their final creation will be shown in a catwalk show alongside Alber Elbaz for Lanvin’s redesign of Minnie Mouse’s spotty frock, as well as pieces designed by Russian designer Alexander Terekhov, Luisa Beccaria represents Italy, Germany’s Michalsky, while the Belgium representative is Jean-Paul Knott and Olcay Gulsen for Supertrash is carrying the flag for the Netherlands.

The 'Designers of Dreams' fashion show will feature as part of a night-time spectacle of Disney animations, music, lights and colour, held in Disneyland Paris on March 23, to mark the launch of resorts 20th Anniversary Extended celebration.
