This week luxury hotel group the Dorchester Collection announced German designer label Augustin Teboul as the winner of the 2102 Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize. The prestigious award was presented to design duo Annelie Augustin

and Odély Teboul after the designers beat off tough competition from labels Calla, IRM Design, Les Garçons Paris and Quentin Veron at the finale showcase held at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris.

Chosen
by a judging panel, which included Sonia Rykiel CEO Nathalie Rykiel, Kenzo founder Kenzo Takada and Vanity Fair contributing editor Elizabeth Saltzman, the duo won a 30,000 Euro cash prize, an engraved crystal trophy and a stay at a Dorchester Collection property in either Paris or Milan during spring Fashion Week 2013.

Augustin Teboul, which launched in 2009, was chosen after the judges felt that their collection best evoked the “spirit of individuality, luxury, style and craftsmanship, which characterises Dorchester Collection’s iconic hotels” as well as demonstrating critical distinction and the potential for future commercial success.

Commenting on their win, Augustin and Teboul, said: “It’s absolutely amazing, we’re overwhelmed by the result, we were so nervous to present in front of such a prestigious panel of judges whom we’ve always admired. We still can’t believe it.”

This is the third year of the prestigious accolade; previous winners of the prize include designer Thomas Tait in 2010 and jewellery and accessories designers Anndra Neen in 2011.
