The Duchess of Cambridge has been hailed as the best dressed Brit by Harper's Bazaar magazine. She was praised for wearing well both couture designer and high street alike, as well as for her penchant for lady-like chic, which she pulls of with aplomb

.

The
Duchess is also in the running to win the British Style Award at the BFC's annual British Fashion Awards, which take place on Monday November 28. Catherine is up against top fashion names - including Lara Stone, Alexa Chung, Edie Campbell, Florence Welch and Emma Watson - for the prize, the winner of which will be chosen by the public.

"The shortlist for the British Style Award was compiled by the judging panel as their recommendations," a spokesperson from the BFC told Vogue.com this morning. "The list is by no means definitive and we welcome suggestions from the British public to nominate any individual who embodies the creative spirit of London."

The accolade is given to the individual who acts as "an international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital". Last year the prize was given to Alexa Chung. The Telegraph published a piece today, entitled Kate Middleton needs your style vote, questioning why Catherine hadn't been included in the shortlist by the panel, but by time of going to press her name was included in the BFC's shortlist.
