Lifestyle brand Esprit hosted the finale of its Big Bang campaign, and drummed up support from 4 million people worldwide. In 11 Esprit stores in 11 international cities, people gathered to perform their personal ‘big bang’ drumbeat for the children

of the Esprit-financed SOS Children’s Village in Alibaug, India.

With Big Bang, Esprit challenged customers worldwide to generate 3 million drumbeats. In return, the lifestyle brand committed to donating an additional 500,000 Euros to the Esprit SOS Children’s Village if this goal was achieved. The Esprit Big Bang ambassador for UK Marina Diamandis, visited the London Regent Street store in order to raise even more awareness for the project. Esprit Philip Weston, UK Retail Manager, also attended the event and commented: "We are overwhelmed by the popularity of this event today and are extremely pleased that we have been able to inspire so many people to participate in the Big Bang idea of beating a global drum and enabling us all to achieve great things together."

SOS Children’s Villages takes action for children as an independent, non-governmental and non-denominational social development organisation by providing family-based care for children who have lost their parents or can no longer live with them. In the new SOS Children’s Village Alibaug, 140 abandoned children will find a new home. The village consists of fourteen family homes offering space to live and grow. In this nurturing environment, a child can be a child, and find the security and help to develop into a responsible and life-affirming human being.
