Hundreds of shoppers watched a Horseback Fashion Show hosted by McArthurGlen's Swindon Designer Outlet to celebrate the launch of the races fashion season. The show featured catwalk models riding 17 hands high racing horses to showcase

key racing looks from the outlet’s current collections.

McArthurGlen Group said that racing fashion sales represent around 25% of the total annual fashion sales across the group’s seven UK centres.

The Swindon outlet is sponsoring the nearby Badminton Horse Trials and expects to see up to 150,000 race goers at the outlet during the lead up to the event. The outlet is also close to the race courses at Bath, Cheltenham and Newbury so is a popular shopping destination for those looking to buy new outfits for the races.

Tina Cumpstey, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen Swindon, commented: “This is the first year that we’re sponsoring the Badminton Horse Trials. The racing season is one of our biggest fashion occasion buying periods in the financial year, with women enjoying the chance to step out in their best fashion finds, with each race goer spending between £250 and £300 on average.”

Jennifer Grange, local shopper said: “It’s not every day that you get to have a front row seat to a fashion show, let alone one involving horses. Funnily enough, I visited today to shop for my racing outfit so for me the show couldn’t have been better timed.”
