Gatwick's new shopping area is part of a 21 million pound upgrade of its South Terminal departure lounge. New openings include Hugo Boss, Lacoste and Kurt Geiger, with additional brands opening over the new few months.

Spencer Sheen, head of retail at London Gatwick, said: “The new Harrods store at Gatwick is a very important part of [our upgrade]. Not only does it look fantastic, the boutique offers an excellent mix of brands that will delight our passengers."

Brands new to airport retail include Ernest Jones, and Aspinal of London.

Gatwick offers its passengers a "shop and drop" option, where there is an unlimited restriction on tax-free shopping, that customers can leave at the airport until they return.
