J Crew, the iconic American fashion retailer renowned for its preppy basics, has announced it will expand its international distribution from 29 to 107 countries. Its new website will reach customers throughout Asia, Australia,

Europe, the Middle East and South America; transacting in 41 local currencies.

“We
are on a mission to provide customers around the world with the best-of-the-best – we have created an experience that is equally as rich online as in store and are excited to introduce J.Crew to new customers worldwide,” states Millard Drexler, Chairman & CEO of J.Crew Group, Inc.

Since 1983, J.Crew has established itself as a retail pioneer with its catalog, which sees a yearly distribution of 80 million copies. The company currently operates 250 retail stores, including 217 J.Crew stores, 27 Madewell stores, and 9 crewcuts stores, as well as 85 J.Crew Factory outlet locations. Additionally, the company has 76 locations in Japan, which are operated under license by Itochu Corporation.

J.Crew Group was owned by the Cinader family for most of its existence, but in October 1997 investment firm Texas Pacific Group Inc. purchased a majority stake in the firm.
