It is during the semi-annual fashion weeks held in New York, London, Milan and Paris that the upcoming fashion trends are determined. Now the question is, what will consumers be putting on their wish lists for the fall to come? FashionUnited lists the 5 biggest fashion trends to emerge during London Fashion Week.

#1 Floral print The floral print is usual a staple among Spring/Summer collections, however in London designers opted for a more colorful and flowery autumn. Tulips were spotted by Mother of Pearl, forget-me-nots and peonies were abundant by Michael van der Ham and daisies were featured in an Andy Warhol silkscreen by Issa. Christopher Bailey painted entire flower gardens on trench coats, dresses, capes and shawls from Burberry Prorsum.

#2 Cobalt blue The color for next fall is: cobalt blue. The vibrant color was spotted in New York amongst collections from designers such as Derek Lam and Proenza Schouler, while in London Giles, Holly Fulton, Jean Pierre Braganza, Temperley London and Topshop Unique all showcased the bold blue. Jonathan Saunders and Michael van der Ham combined the cobalt blue with another favorite color for the season: pastel blue.

#3 Layers An alternative for the oversized coat: layers. At Burberry Prorsum, models were portrayed as nomadic businesswomen, prowling the catwalk in long blouse dresses, with a short jackets on top, long flowing scarves and capes over their shoulders, ready to fly from a meeting in New York to an appointment in Hong Kong. Topshop Unique also showcased a creative way to keep warm next winter and still look stylish and paired strapless dresses over blouses and skirts of different lengths.

#4 Asymmetric Dresses, jackets, skirts: the majority of them will be asymmetric next season. The straps of evening gowns at J.W Anderson were falling off the models shoulders, Roksanda Ilinic showcased skirt which half of which were knee length and the other half ankle length and Mary Katrantzou showed cocktail dresses with a strap on which a long piece of pleated fabric was draped on one side.

#5 Matching sets Just as previously shown in New York, London Fashion Week was full of matching suits and tuxedos. Christopher Kane, Giles, Felder Felder, Emilia Wickstead and Erdem all showed modern variations of the female business suit. But there was another trend spotted amongst designers showing at LFW: matching outfits paired with complimentary tops, skirts or pants. Issa showcased an oversized sweater with grey, pink, blue and yellow color blocks with the matching skirt. Christopher Kane showed a latex suit with a short, boxy jacket with ruffles and matching mini skirt. House of Holland designed a rusty brown retro ensemble comprising of a short jacket with tassel detailing and tapered pants. Paul Smith picked up were pajama influenced outfits left off two seasons ago and combined satin pajama blouses with chic trousers with a damask jacquard pattern.
