The first new Loewe shop since 2002 is opening its doors in Mayfair London. The boutique has a contemporary luxury feel to it and matches the new direction Stuart Vevers is going for. Retail architect Peter Marino looked after the design of the 136m2

19th century building, who’s also responsible for the design of the new concept store in Valencia. Located on Mount Street, the interior of the Mayfair store has a jewellery box shape highlighted with pink features.

Focussing
on accessories for men and women, the Loewe store also has selected pieces from the womenswear collection on display. With the new store it seems the brand has worked its way up and placed itself right next to the internationally acclaimed luxury brands.

The history of Loewe dates back to 1846 when Madrid was preparing for two royal marriages and Spanish craftsmen opened a leather shop. In 1905 Loewe became the official supplier tot the Spanish Royal Crown. The fashion and leather goods label expanded internationally in the late 60s, and opened a boutique on Bond Street.

In 1996, when Loewe celebrates its 150 anniversary, LVMH takes over ownership, and a year later Narciso Rodriquez joins the company, after which Jose Enrique Ona, and Louis Toribio followed. Now, Stuart Vevers, previously at Mulberry, is the Creative Director of the womens, mens and accessory ranges.
