The history of Loewe dates back to 1846 when Madrid was preparing for two royal marriages and Spanish craftsmen opened a leather shop. In 1905 Loewe became the official supplier tot the Spanish Royal Crown. The fashion and leather goods label expanded internationally in the late 60s, and opened a boutique on Bond Street.
In 1996, when Loewe celebrates its 150 anniversary, LVMH takes over ownership, and a year later Narciso Rodriquez joins the company, after which Jose Enrique Ona, and Louis Toribio followed. Now, Stuart Vevers, previously at Mulberry, is the Creative Director of the womens, mens and accessory ranges.
