The British Fashion Council has announced that it is expanding its international showcasing initiative, London Show Rooms. For the first time the BFC will take a selection of London’s design talent to Los Angeles and Hong Kong, building on

building on the success of the events in Paris and New York.

"London
Show Rooms has become an essential initiative to promote British talent internationally and help designers develop their businesses through directly networking and working with media, retailers and the broader fashion industry in each region.  We are delighted to take this initiative to LA and Hong Kong," says Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council.

London Show Rooms LA will take place October 17-19 at the Ace Gallery, Los Angeles, and will give west coast buyers, and press the opportunity to view the collections and meet the designers. Participating designers are: E.Tautz, Erdem, Jonathan Saunders, Marios Schwab, Mary Katrantzou, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto, Richard Nicoll, Roksanda Ilincic, and Todd Lynn.

The showcase then heads to Hong Kong from October 31 – November 1, with Li Fung as the official sponsor. The decision to visit Hong Kong supports the China Britain Fashion Alliance, established July 2011, an initiative between the BFC, the Beijing International Brand Management Centre and the China-Britain Business Council to promote British Fashion in China.

The last stop for the London Show Rooms is New York, which runs November 9-10, in partnership with Centre for Fashion Enterprise.

Designers participating in LA and Hong Kong are previous Fashion Forward alumni and BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund shortlist and British Fashion Awards Menswear and Accessory Designers of the Year 2010. New York showcases designers who have received NEWGEN, Fashion Forward and Fashion East support.

London Show Rooms are supported by the European Regional Development Fund and UK Trade and Investment.
