American retailer Macy’s has announced that House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate designer Nicole Richie is to design an exclusive limited-edition collection for the store. The collection will be a continuation of its designer capsule series for

the retailer’s contemporary fashion Impulse department and will be called ‘Nicole Richie for Impulse only at Macy’s’.

The range will launch into 100 Macy’s stores and on Macy.com in September, and will feature limited-edition apparel inspired by Richie’s personal bohemian style, including 1970s influenced silhouettes, prints and fabrications. The capsule line, priced between $49 and $149, consists of maxis, asymmetrical skirts, cropped tops, and fitted jackets.

"Macy's is the epitome of American fashion," said Nicole Richie. "Their iconic stamp on the world of retail has not only touched the lives of consumers, but has also become a significant part of pop culture. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work with Macy's and create a collection that channels the individual artist in all of us."

"We are extremely excited to have Nicole Richie design the next capsule for our Impulse designer series," said Jeff Gennette, Macy's chief merchandising officer. "Not only is she on everyone's best dressed list, but her talent for fashion and design, as well as her charismatic persona resonate with our Impulse customer."

Macy’s Impulse series has previously released affordable collections with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti, Doo-Ri Chung, Karl Lagerfeld, Giambattista Valli, and British designer Matthew Williamson.
