As the patron of the ‘Designer for Tomorrow’ Award by Peek&Cloppenburg, Marc Jacobs supports the awards show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. German fashion house Peek&Cloppenburg has hosted the

fashion talent award ‘Designer for Tomorrow’ since 2009. If offers a platform for creativity, and gives emerging talent the opportunity to present themselves. P&C sponsors the award winner with a tailor-made program for almost a year. The following January, P&C will present the winner's first solo fashion show in Berlin.

This year Marc Jacobs is the Award’s patron, and together with an expert jury he’ll select the winner. The awards show will take place on 6th July during Berlin Fashion Week, and here five finalists have the chance to show their collections.

This year P&C announced the ‘Designer for Tomorrow’ award in all 15 countries where the company is represented with sales outlets including Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Rumania, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and Germany.

In 1901 James Cloppenburg opened the company's first store in Berlin, and started with catalogue selling 6 years later. In the Second World War none of the stores set up over the years survived. Following the war new stores were built and P&C starts a large expansion phase. Today, P&C is an international chain of fashion department stores.
