London Fashion Week designer Marios Schwab is launching a high street department store collection with Debenhams. The designer is joining the British retailer’s Edition category, which has been specifically designed to appeal to women who

want contemporary style that makes a statement.

Schwab’s
first high street collection will debut for autumn/winter 2012 in October and will feature a capsule range of eight directional dresses, all of which are in keeping with his signature style of emphasising the contours of a woman’s body, and have been designed to be worn for the daytime or evening.

Talking about working with Debenhams, Schwab said: “Working on the range has enabled the Marios Schwab brand to be introduced to a new, exciting and strong-minded Edition customer.

“It has been a great experience to introduce elements of the DNA of my label to a wider range of women, taking inspirations from signature pieces of my collections and adapting them in to a product for a customer who is confident and knows exactly what she is looking for in her wardrobe.

“I wanted to introduce her and challenge her with a capsule range that incorporates my vision for the perfect dresses for all occasions.”

As part of the Debenhams’ Edition concept designers are required to sign up for a minimum of four seasons, and he joins fellow London Fashion Week designer’s Jonathan Saunders, Roksanda Ilincic, and Preen, who are also part of the autumn/winter 2012 offering from Edition.

Michael Sharp, Chief Executive of Debenhams, added: “We are delighted to announce the addition of Marios Schwab to the high calibre of design talent we house within Debenhams. Our designer collaborations are something that we are really proud of, and we are committed to building on its success.

“We have put a renewed focus on designers at Debenhams and really bought this to life through our recent advertising campaigns, and by refreshing the designer offer with the introduction of Edition. Customers can shop established industry names such as Jasper Conran, Betty Jackson and Julien Macdonald alongside new designers such as Marios all in one place.”

The Marios Schwab for Debenhams range will be available in Edition ‘shop in shops’ within Debenhams stores and online from October 18, priced from 75 to 150 Pounds.

This is the latest collaboration for the Central St Martins graduate, as earlier this week the designer showcased his debut lingerie line, created with Asos.com, which will launch in November with a range comprising of 40 pieces.
