For the emerging fashion talent platform Fashion Fringe 2011, Roland Mouret and Claudia Schiffer are in the new judging panel. The entries are now open for the 2011 programme that supports new British fashion talent.

The designer selected as winner in September will get a two year development package, which includes a mixture of cash, business advice, mentoring and an equipped studio at Somerset House, to set up and sustain its business.

Besides Claudia Schiffer and Roland Mouret, the panel of five judges also includes Anne Pitcher of Selfridges, Roy Peach of the London College of Fashion; and Bel Jacobs of Metro. The judges are selected to represent everything from fashion to buying to technical design.

Claudia Schiffer said: “I have watched Fashion Fringe grow from strength to strength over the past few years, and am delighted to be able to add my support this year. Fashion Fringe is a fantastic business platform for any aspiring designer, and I look forward to helping some of London’s creative design talent thrive and grow over the coming months.”

For the first time Fashion Fringe is teaming up with online department store very.co.uk, as an official sponsor of the scheme. Very.co.uk will work with Fashion Fringe to mentor designers, and help them with the challenge of balancing
creativity and commercial success without losing the main
focus of their work.
