A new UK body is launching to promote and support the UK’s personal styling and image industry. The Association of Stylists and Image Professionals (ASIP) aims to raise the profile of this growing market by providing an online platform for clients
and the press, as well as a professional network for personal stylists and shoppers.Founded in May 2010, ASIP will officially launch on 23 September 2010 at One Alfred Place by an initial Founding Membership of 50 independent image and styling professionals. The shared vision of the Founding Members is to create a credible and professional organisation that is forward thinking and relevant to today’s personal styling and image industry. Headed by image professionals Jennifer Aston and Pippa Rees, British Vogue stylist Michelle Duguid is welcomed as a founding member, and also Camilla Rudley-Day, ex-deputy fashion editor, Daily Mail as its first guest speaker.
Commenting on the launch, Jennifer Aston (Co-founder) says: “We are extremely excited about the launch of ASIP and truly believe that we are providing a well needed resource for our profession. We currently lack a central organisation that can provide a comprehensive directory of professionals who actively work as stylists and image consultants and I am constantly being asked why! Through ASIP you will now be able to find image practitioners throughout the UK and get a clear understanding of all the services that they offer. We are a credible industry of professional people and we want this to be recognised.”
