Aeffe S.p.A has announced that Alberta Ferretti will be handing over the creative direction of the younger Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti collection to Natalie Ratabesi. In a move to allow Ferretti time to concentrate on the mainline

collection and other un-specified projects, the British designer, a graduate from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, will make her debut for the brand with the autumn/winter 2013 collection.

In
announcing her choice, Alberta Ferretti stated: “I felt that the time had come to give Philosophy a more independent and autonomous vision, allowing me to dedicate myself entirely to the Alberta Ferretti collection and other related projects.

“I am confident that Natalie, with her femininity and boundless energy, will best express the fundamental spirit of the Philosophy collection.”

Ratabesi has worked at many prestigious design houses including Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, and Gucci, and most recently she has been fine tuning her design skills at Ralph Lauren where she has was the senior creative director.

Commenting on her new role, Ratabesi said: “It’s an honour for me to accept this opportunity I was given. I have always marvelled at Alberta Ferretti’s enduring aesthetic, her clean and contemporary elegance, and it is my desire to project Philosophy’s unique, timeless style and effortless femininity, which have always distinguished the brand, into the future.”

Massimo Ferretti, President of Aeffe S.p.A, added: “The arrival of Natalie Ratabesi at Philosophy represents the natural and consistent evolution of a brand that bonds Aeffe’s know-how to research and creativity.

“This progression expresses the dynamic soul of our Group, which looks to the future by embracing the new generation, and offering them high-level opportunities.”
