Phoebe Philo awarded OBE in New Year Honours

Other fashion names to be honoured on the annual register includes textile designer and print tutor at Central Saint Martins Natalie Gibson, who has been recognised for her services to the fashion and textile industry with an MBE, or Member of the Order of the British Empire, while Bradford Textile Society director Paul Whitaker is to be awarded an OBE for his services to the textile industry.
Fashion industry recognised in New Year's Honours
There was also an OBE for Julia Carrick, former chief executive of Walpole and now a global ambassador for the luxury trade body, who has been honoured for her services to the British luxury goods industry.In addition, make-up artist Pat McGrath, who is famous for her work creating catwalk looks for major fashion houses such as Dior and Louis Vuitton, was also honoured. She will receive an MBE for her "artistry and inventiveness" in the fashion and beauty industry.
Last year, British designer Stella McCartney was honoured with an OBE for her services to fashion, and for designing Team GB’s kit with Adidas for the London 2012 Olympic Games. As was jewellery label Tatty Devine-founders Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfende, All Walks Beyond The Catwalk-founder Caryn Franklin and Stephen Webster, who were awarded an MBE.
